One of the world’s foremost experts on fraud prevention, Frank Abagnale, gave a seminar Wednesday to help business owners protect themselves from common scams.
Abagnale’s life was the subject of the movie “Catch Me If You Can,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Abagnale was an impersonator and ran several frauds from age 16 to 21, when he was apprehended by French police and spent several years in French, Swedish and U.S. prisons. He eventually was released early from a U.S. prison on the condition that he help train the Federal Bureau of Investigation on fraud identification and prevention.
