Orange County couple charged with $2.2 million fraudulent mortgage scheme
Two Orange County residents, Thao Thi Kim Nguyen and Nghiep Chinh Nguyen, are accused of fraudulently obtaining over $2 million by stealing the identities of primarily elderly Vietnamese American homeowners and manipulating banks to cash out mortgages on those properties.
